About Zainab

Work with a therapist who already understands your world.

I'm Zainab Farrukh, a trauma-informed therapist and clinical psychologist. For more than seven years I've walked alongside women through trauma, CPTSD, anxiety, depression, grief, and the quiet weight of burnout.

My work is grounded in evidence-based therapy and shaped by a deep respect for faith, culture, and family. I hold space for Muslim women across North America, the Middle East, and Pakistan, in both English and Urdu.

You will not have to explain your world before we begin. That part is already understood.

Specializations

Where I can help

Focused areas of clinical work, all delivered online.

  • Trauma-focused therapy

Evidence-based methods including DBT, CBT, and ACT, adapted with care to the pace your body and mind can hold.

  • PTSD & CPTSD

Gentle, structured work with the imprint of past harm, so it stops running the show and starts to soften.

  • Burnout recovery

For the woman who has been carrying too much for too long. We rebuild capacity, boundaries, and rest.

Free tool

Notice burnout before it deepens.

A quiet, ten-question check-in that takes about two minutes. No sign-up. No judgment. Just a clearer picture of how you're really doing, and what might help next.

My approach to healing

A calm, four-step path forward.

You will always know where we are, and what comes next.

  1. 01

    Building trust

We begin gently. You set the pace. Nothing moves faster than feels safe.

  2. 02

    Understanding trauma

Together we make sense of what happened, and what your nervous system learned to carry.

  3. 03

    Developing coping skills

Practical, faith-respectful tools you can use between sessions and long after our work ends.

  4. 04

    Empowerment and growth

Reclaiming your voice, your boundaries, and a life that feels like yours again.

Culturally sensitive therapy

Therapy that meets you where you already stand.

Faith-respectful, culturally aware, and never asking you to leave part of yourself at the door.

  • Understanding your identity

Faith, culture, and family are not footnotes in your story. They shape how you feel, decide, and heal, and they are welcome in the room.

  • Respectful, open communication

You can speak plainly here. Nothing about your beliefs or background needs to be defended or translated.

  • Family systems approach

We look at the family patterns you were raised in and the ones you want to carry forward. With clarity, not blame.
